Four years ago today I was on an airplane leaving home to begin my journey to Belize for my nine month Discipleship Training School. It's kind of hard to remember exactly how I was feeling, but I know I was hoping for God to teach me and grow me. I was hoping by the end of my DTS God would show me where I "fit in" with this whole missions thing.
What I was not expecting was for him to show me unknown areas of my heart that he wanted to
heal and
restore. I was NOT expecting to meet my future husband. I was not expecting all the abnormalities about life in Belize to be my daily norms four years later.
Totally did the tourist thing of taking a picture with the tiny airplane when I first arrived in Belize. I mean, my family had to see the size of this plane, I couldn't just use words to try to explain it. Since then, some of my family has sat in those same seats to come visit my new home and today I'm packing my suitcase to hop back on that little airplane on Tuesday to take our next step in this journey to be a part of YWAM Madison for a few months.
Here are a few pictures from our own DTS. We'll start off with our first picture together.
Noah and I were on the same cooking team. Pretty romantic huh?
