The base is bustling this weekend! Staff are busy preparing for our student celebration we're holding this evening. Students are hard at work finishing up their last academic assignments and (hopefully) starting to sort through their belongings to prepare for packing. And at the moment I look out the window and see people frantically running to get out of the downpour of rain. I'm glad I'm nice and dry inside sitting in front of my fan. :)
I woke up this morning with an ambition to accomplish all sorts of emails, cleaning, and laundry on my "to do" list. The list became quickly shortened as I found out the internet was down and the water is off on base... Ever heard that being flexible is important in ministry and missions? With my plans being "interrupted" this morning God reminded me how so often my list of priorities and necessities are not always the same as His. This reminder is one of HIS priorities for me right now. Especially with this next week being our Outreach Orientation week for the students to transition into outreach mode. From day one, God has been preparing the students for this outreach, but this next week brings all our focus to Outreach. Noah and I are pumped!
What We've Been Up To...
Each school has one week designated as "Ministry Week." The week was spent on a variety of different activities including prayer walks, scavenger hunts, baking and handing out treats, organizing and facilitating a basketball tournament, and patching massive pot-holes in the road.

We also got to enjoy having the Applegate family come down to visit for a week as we celebrated Jesse and Erika's wedding. It was great having them here, to be able to spend time with them and for them to see what life is like on the base. They even got to participate in daily lectures and activities
and find some time to do some site seeing.

Thankfully the internet is up and running again, I'll be able to get some of my tasks done, I'll have to be patient with the water... We leave a week from today to go to London, so please be praying for us (and especially Baby) for the long plane rides and extensive travel. More updates to come on what God is doing through the Outreach to London and Portugal!
I just found your blog! It is so great hearing from you guys! We are praying for you!!
